Another fantastic day for Monkstown Boxing Club at the National Stadium for the All Ireland Schoolboy Championships. Both Ryan Squire (Age 13 43kg) and Suffie Edris (Age 13 44.5kg) picked up All Ireland Gold Medals.

Ryan Squire had to come through 3 tough bouts. Quarter Finals he beat Peter Devine (Oliver Plunkett BC, Belfast), in his Semi Final he beat Arthur McInerney (Portlaoise BC) and in his final he beat last years Irish Champion Stephen McCarthy (Charleville BC, Cork).

Suffie Edris also had to come through 3 hard fought contests. Quarter Finals he beat James Connors (Ennis BC, Clare), in his Semi Final he beat Charles Corcoran (Carrickmore BC, Tyrone) and in his final he beat John Thompson (Castle BC, Antrim).

There was hard luck for 3 other Monkstown boys:
Padraig Stapleton (age 11 37kg) beaten in quarter finals
Sam Fitzgibbon (age 11 44.5kg) beaten in semi finals
Ryan Gill (age 12 37kg) beaten in quarter finals.

Another amazing day for Monkstown Boxing Club at the National Stadium on Saturday 8th April. Both Sean Mari (age 16 at 44kg) and Dylan Doyle (age 16 at 52kg) had fantastic wins to retain their All Ireland Crowns they both won last year, there was hard luck to Jack Ginnelly (age 15 at 80kg) who put up a very good performance but lost in the final. All 3 boys had to come through tough bouts to make finals day.

In more good news Kenneth Doyle (age 18 62kg) will represent Ireland Under 19s against Denmark in Copenhagen on Saturday April 29th.

On Sunday 18th April we have 5 Schoolboys & 3 girls who will compete in the All Ireland Schoolboys/girls Championship. All 5 boys & 3 girls were recently crowned Dublin Schoolboys/girls Champions at the recent Dublin Championships held in the National Stadium throughout March.
