MONKSTOWN BOX CUP 2026 International boxing tournament for Girls and Boys born 2016 to 2008. Hi All,
Massive well done to all boxers, coaches & officials at the Monkstown Box Cup 2026, long days but the standard was exceptional, the standard keeps getting better and better every year.
At the end of the all bouts on Saturday, we presented some awards, we were delighted to have World Champion Bernard Dunne on hand to present the belts:
Best Female: Macie O’Connor (Cabra BC, Dublin, Ireland) Best Male: Terry O’Connor (Chepstow BC, Wales) Best Referee: Dean O’Dalot (Connaught County Board, Ireland) Best Club: Cork Boxing Selection, Ireland – 12 Golds
Skills Bout Awards: Best Girl: Honey Blue O’Loughlin (Galway BC) Best Boy: Gele Illiev (Rathnew BC, Wicklow, Ireland) Overall most Skillful: Azbhan “The Flash” Muhammed (Pound4Pound BC, Walsall, England)

- Any boxers with only 1 in the class - we will work at getting bouts - Any groups that have more than 8 boxers - we will divide into two or more groups. Trying always to get each boxer an International bout, but due to draw we can't guarantee. - Anyone that still needs to Pay for boxers, pay by cash only at the weigh in.

Notes:
To help the tournament run smoothly the committee have decided:
1. You only weigh in on the day you Box
- Programs & Draws will be emailed to all clubs by Wednesday 1st July
Boxing Schedule: Thursday 2nd July 2026: 8am to 10am Medical & Weigh In - only boxers doing skills & competing on this day to weigh in 11am to 2pm - Skills Bouts in Ring A, B & C 3pm to 10pm - Competition Boxing Quarter Finals - in Ring A, B & C
Friday 3rd July 2026: 8am to 10am Medical & Weigh In - only boxers competing on this day to weigh in (boxers that competed on Thursday don't have to weigh in) 11am to 10pm - Competition Boxing Semi Finals - in Ring A, B & C
Saturday 4th July 2026: 8am to 9am Medical & Weigh In - All boxers competing on this day to weigh in (all boxers get 1kg allowance) 10am to 6pm - Competition Boxing Finals - in Ring A, B & C
2. R&J meeting : There will be an R&J meeting with Tournament Inspectors Stephen Connolly/Philip Rooney/Kieran O'Neill at 2pm on Thursday 2nd July. Can all R&J officials please check in before 2pm.
3. Any International Clubs looking for transport from Airports, Hotels or Venue runs, please be advised we have a reduced rate from the following transport companies - always quote "Monkstown Box Cup":

4. Monkstown Boxing Club (A96 KR65) can be used for any teams that arrive early or are staying after the tournament, please let me know what times you need to use the gym.
5. There is a Shop and Food at The National Boxing Stadium
6. Weigh ins and Boxing will take place at 145 The National Boxing Stadium, South Circular Rd, Dublin, D08 HY40
7. 'Permission to Travel Abroad' - this must be obtained by each club/team that is travelling from abroad. Contact your National Governing Body (NGB) if not already done so.
8. Coaches/Officials registration: this will be done at the Weigh In. Each coach/official will be given a lanyard. You will need this to enter the field of play.
9. Team Photo: Each team will get a team photo at the Weigh In - it is advised that you wear your club colours but not essential. The photo will be available on social media for downloading.
10. Bouts Streaming: The full 3 days of action from the 3 rings will be streamed live – details to follow in future email.
11. Parking: Unfortunately there is no parking at the National Boxing Stadium
