The boxing club is in a disadvantaged area and we continue to provide an outlet to all families with in the local area.
We run beginners boxing courses specifically targeting the following areas:
Age 8 to 12 - Introduction to sports for boys and girls "learn the basics"
Age 13 to 17 - Early school leavers, anti social behavior and substance misuse.
Adults - Boxercise Classes or Beginners Boxing Courses
Competition boxers - High Performance Classes and S&C

Our boxers are entered into the following local, national and international competitions every season.
Underage (age 9 to 11): Skills Bouts
In Ireland boxers can only have a competitive contest when they are aged 11.
To get our boxers ready for competition boxing our boxers take part in “Skills bouts” these are non-competitive bouts with no decision (no winner/loser) with the emphasis always on skills and preparation for future competitions.
Monkstown BC hold Skills Bout shows in our clubhouse usually every Saturday to prepare junior boxers for competitions. We invite clubs from all over Ireland to take part & provide opponents.
Schoolboys/girls (age 11 to 13)
Dublin Boxing Leagues – this hugely historic competition has been running since 1933. Boxers can only compete against boxers from the same year of birth and weight class, usually with 2kg. There is a Junior & Senior class for each weight category. Junior class are usually less than 5 competitive bouts, Seniors would have above 5 bouts. This is usually held September through to December, boxed every Monday & Wednesday evening in the ringside club (National Stadium). Dublin Boxing Championships – a highly competitive competition with eventual winners going forward to compete in All Ireland Championships. Usually held in early March.
All Ireland Boxing Championships - another highly competitive competition with eventual winners of 6 regional championships boxing against each other (Leinster, Munster, Connaught, Ulster, Dublin & Antrim). Usually held on Mid Term Break in April.
Juniors (age 14 to 16)
Dublin Boxing Leagues – this hugely historic competition has been running since 1933. Boxers can only compete against boxers from the same year of birth and weight class, usually with 2kg. There is a Junior & Senior class for each weight category. Junior class are usually less than 5 competitive bouts, Seniors would have above 5 bouts. This is usually held September through to December, boxed every Monday & Wednesday evening in the ringside club (National Stadium)
Dublin Boxing Championships – a highly competitive competition with eventual winners going forward to compete in All Ireland Championships. Usually held in February.
All Ireland Boxing Championships - another highly competitive competition with eventual winners of 6 regional championships boxing against each other (Leinster, Munster, Connaught, Ulster, Dublin & Antrim). Usually held in March.
Youths (age 17 & 18)
All Ireland Boxing Championships – this is non qualifying event. Clubs will decide if Boxers are ready to be entered here. These championships dates vary from year to year depending on European & World championships dates.

Dublin Novice Championships – Adult Boxers must have less than 5 competitive bouts. This competition is usually held March and October, boxed in the ringside club (National Stadium)
All Ireland Novice Boxing Championships – Adult Boxers must have less than 10 competitive bouts. This competition is usually held November, boxed at the National Stadium
Intermediate/Seniors – Adults (age 18 to 40)
All Ireland Seniors Boxing Championships – Adult Boxers must have more than 10 competitive bouts and not have entered the Elite championships. This competition is usually held November, boxed at the National Stadium
Elites – Adults (age 18 to 40)
All Ireland Elites Boxing Championships – an Open Class Adult Boxing tournament – highly competitive and features the countries top boxers before they go onto future major tournaments European, World & Olympic Games . This competition is usually held January/February, boxed at the National Stadium

Monkstown International Box Cup every June – boxers from age 10 to 16 compete against boxers from all over the world. A total of 500 boxers every year from 15 different counties.
London Training Camp every January – we visit 3 boxing clubs (West Ham BC, Pinewood Starr BC & Repton BC) in 3 days for sparring and relationship building.
Celtic Box Cup Dungarvan – Adult boxing competition from Novice, Senior & Elite level boxers
Odivelas Box Cup Portugal – U18 & Adult boxing competition from Novice, Senior & Elite level boxers
Eindhoven Box Cup Netherlands - Adult boxing competition for Elite level boxers
Hull Box Cup England – Schoolboys & Girls boxing competition for open class level.
Louth Open Ireland – Schoolboys/girls to Elite level boxing boxers - usually held in clubs around Dundalk or Drogheda.
